We have had lots of enquiries regarding COVID-19 and bookings.

We strongly advise all guests to book travel insurance to protect themselves financially if their holiday is cancelled due to illness or mandatory isolation.

The below guidance will outline how we will be managing bookings in the event of another Government imposed National lockdown or further local COVID-19 restrictions.

On Mon 12 Oct 20 the Government announced new information on local COVID alert levels (Tiers). This information set out advice for local authorities, residents, and workers about what to do in the event of an outbreak. This includes travel within and outside of your regions.

Medium Alert (Tier 1)

You can still travel and come to park providing:

· You must not socialise in groups larger than six, indoors or outdoors. This applies to people in your holiday home and all areas on park.

· If you are dining in any of Away Resorts restaurants, they will only accept bookings of up to six people and they will also close by 10pm. Please check Away Resorts website for more specific opening and close times - https://www.awayresorts.co.uk/tattershall-lakes/whats-open/

• A face covering is required in all venues, including restaurants, until you are fully seated and ready to eat and drink

High Alert (Tier 2)

You can still travel and come to park providing:

• You must NOT socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting – this includes our mini lodges and indoor areas on Park

• You must not socialise in groups larger than six, outdoors. This applies to all areas on park including the beaches

• If you are dining in any of Away Resorts restaurants, they will only accept bookings for the same number of people in your party (your household or support bubble) and they will also close by 10pm. • A face covering is required in all venues, including our restaurants, until you are fully seated and ready to eat and drink

Very High Alert (Tier 3)

We are sorry to say that you should avoid travelling to us:

• The Government advice is clear that you should avoid travelling outside of your area including staying overnight in another part of the UK. Whilst this, I am sure will be hugely disappointing, we all must do our bit to help stop the spread of the virus. 

Stay at home (Tier 4)

You should stay at home as much as possible. You should only leave your house for specific purposes, including:

• essential activities such as shopping for food, drink or other items such as medicine (this includes picking up 'click and collect orders) or accessing public services or basic amenities.
• work, if you can't work from home, and volunteering
• education and childcare
• providing care to a vulnerable person
• meeting up with others in your support bubble
• exercising
• for medical care or to avoid harm.

If you are in Tiers 3 or 4 please contact us if you are in this category and are due to travel to the park within the next 14 days.  

The most important thing to remember is you will not lose any money. 

There will be 2 options available for guests who's holidays have been cancelled due to COVID Tier travel restrictions or a National Lockdown.

Option 1 

We will always try our very best to move guest bookings further into the year so they still get to have their holiday as planned, on a different date. This also helps us manage our finances if there has been a large number of cancellations due to the Government imposing further COVID restrictions or a National Lockdown.

Option 2

If it is not financially viable for you to move your holiday to a date further into the year then we will of course refund you in full. We will endeavor to give guests a refund as quickly as possible.  

Non COVID (Tiers or National Lockdown) cancellations

If you need to cancel in the first instance we will always try to fit you in with an alternative date, but if you do need to cancel for non COVID travel restrictions then cancellations will be refunded and we are unable to fill the holiday at short notice terms are as follows:- 0-3 days to start of holiday 0% payment returned, 4-14 days to start of holiday 50% payment returned, Greater than 14 days to start of holiday 100% payment returned. Cooling off period 0-14 days from booking 100% returned provided holiday has not started.

Future changes

Please note that if your postcode does move to a ‘very high alert’ (Tier 3)  or 'Stay at home' (Tier 4) location in the future, you must try and follow advice and not travel to the park for the period stated. 

We strongly advise all customers to purchase travel insurance, particularly  incase you or a member of your booking party contract COVID-19. In this scenario we will do our absolute upmost to resell your dates at short notice and offer a refund (in part or in full).

We appreciate the next few months will be challenging for many, however we also know that the more we do now, the quicker we can get back to enjoying our time on park as we know and love it!

A few reminders

· Please remember to complete the track and trace when you are on park – its very important you do this.

· Should guests be found to not comply with the latest guidance, we may be obliged to cancel your booking or Away Resorts themselves may ask you to leave the park.

COVID-19 FAQ's

1) My town/region is back on lockdown – what happens to my booking?

Please message our Facebook page providing a contact number and we will be happy to help talk through your options. For everyone’s safety please do not travel to the Park. Please visit the .Gov website for specific travel/local lockdown advice for your region.

2) I have symptoms and need to self-isolate?

You must not travel to the Park, if your holiday date is 14 days or less we are unable to offer a refund if we are unable to fill the date with new guests. We will try our absolute best to fill the holiday so you can be reimbursed, however if this is not possible you will need to make a claim through your travel insurance provider.

Any refunds given by us if we are unable to resell the dates will be given in line with our cancellation policy in our guest T&C's:

3) I do not feel comfortable about travelling.

We understand that this is a very concerning time for everyone. We are therefore allowing you to move to your break to a different date, free of charge, if you provide us with at least 14 days notice.

You will need to re-book to another date within 12-months and please note that if the replacement holiday is of lesser value the difference will be refunded by us. Should the holiday be of greater value then the difference is payable by you. We are also happy to change names on the booking free of charge should someone else wish to travel in their place.

4) I work in the NHS and I cannot take a holiday – I am extremely busy working.

Firstly, thank you for everything you are doing, you are a hero! You are welcome to move to your break to a different date, free of charge as long as it’s more than 14 days notice of your stay. If you would like to re-book another date within 12-months please note that if the replacement holiday is of lesser value the difference will be refunded by us. Should the holiday be of greater value then the difference is payable by you.

If you inform us with less than 14 days notice and we are unable to resell your dates you would need to make a claim through your travel insurance provider for a refund. Any refunds given by us at short notice would be payable based on our cancelation policy within the our guest T&C's.

5) I have coronavirus and due to holiday within the next 14 days.

Please do not travel to the park, we will refund your £100 damage bond immediately but if you have already paid for your holiday in full you will need to make a claim through your independent travel insurance provider. 

You are welcome to gift or sell the holiday to family member* or friends* (if your travel insurance is happy for you to do this).

*£100 damage bond and new guest booking form must be completed by the person receiving the gifted holiday. £100 damage bond will be refunded after their stay (if no damages or excessive cleaning required etc).

6) What if I get sick whilst I am on holiday?

Please inform guest services immediately and stay in your holiday Home. The General Manager on the Park will advise next steps.

After contacting the general manager at Tattershall Lakes please inform us directly, we would also contact your travel insurance provider for further advice and guidance.

7) COVID-19 infections have increased, and the Government is putting the whole of the UK back on a national lockdown – what about my booking?

Under our book with confidence guarantee, you are able to change the date of your break with 12 months of your planned arrival date, hold funds on your account until you are ready to re-book or opt for a full refund.

8) I want to book a holiday home for me and my friends, is this allowed?

Please make sure you follow government advice carefully. This changes on a regularly so please visit the www.gov.uk/coronavirus website for the latest advice.

We trust you to use your own judgement with regards adhering to any restrictions or local lockdown rules. Please ensure you follow Gov guidance at all times, the most accurate information can be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus

9) When is my balance due?

Final balances are due 4 weeks prior to your arrival date. Deposits are refunded after your stay* (minus any damages or excessive cleaning bills*).

However, due to COVID lockdowns we may not be sure if the park will be open until closer to the time, therefore please wait to be sent an invoice by us before making further payments.

10) My stay is within the next 14 days but I have been told to isolate for 14 days due a member of my household having COVID symptoms/tested positive for COVID 19/been informed by the Gov Track and Trace app or the NHS Test and Trace service, what should I do?

Do not travel to the park, follow all Gov/NHS advice. You will need to speak to your travel insurance provider immediately to discuss your refund options via your policy. However, we will do absolutely everything we can to try resell your date so that you are not out of pocket.

Please contact us after you have spoken to your travel insurance provider. Any refunds offered by us will be in line with our cancellation policy within the our guest T&C's
